Located in the Diamondhead Community of Hancock County in South Mississippi, Rotten Bayou Cemetery is one of the County's oldest and most eccentric cemeteries. Rooted in family heritage and old world custom it is a reminder of days long past. A stroll through it's ancient wrought iron fencing and weathered marble headstones beckon's one's interest as to the stories long since lost with the passing of time.

Here in this place, rests many members of the Mississippi Gulf Coast's founding families. In a quick glance such names as Cuevas, Necaise, Ladner, and Moran begin to emerge amidst white sand covered graves hiding behind cypress planked picket fences.
