As of 2008 a new Cemetery Committee was appointed by the Hancock County Board of Supervisors. The Cemetery Committee has the full power and responsibility to investigate the necessity of issues relating to the operation, care, and maintenance of Rotten Bayou Cemetery. The Cemetery Committee meets to discuss and vote on recommendations, which are then brought before the Hancock County Board of Supervisors for final approval and or ratification.
The Cemetery Committee is not paid or on Hancock County's payroll, but work on a volunteer basis.

If you can not reach any individual Member, we ask that you contact your Hancock County Supervisor who will make every available effort to contact the Cemetery Committee in regards to your situation. We also ask that you please not call repeatedly with the same comments and or concerns. The matter will be handled in a timely fashion and your call will be returned by one of the Committee Memebers.
